One of the primary focuses of Version 4.0 is to leverage the look and feel of a Web 2.0 user interface. Benelogic continually works toward standardization and normalization of their portals to further reduce barriers to portal use. “Our portals are intuitive and easy-to-use in the self-service environment," Raouf stated. "However, that means we need to constantly evaluate our portals to ensure they meet usability requirements from user-centric perspective.”
Version 4.0 leverages a tab-based design to better organization information for easy retrieval. “As the web has evolved, icon-driven navigation is more commonly used. We saw the obvious advantages of that approach," said Raouf. "Where a picture tells a thousand words, icons can help speed understanding and acceptance for users and increase efficiency and effectiveness."
