Description

Benelogic, a leading online benefits management software company is seeking a Software Architect.

The Software Architect will be responsible for leading software engineers and Database Administrators in the software development environment. In addition, the Software Architect will be responsible for directing all areas of the software development process, including data modeling, system architecture and design, technology selection, unit and regression test design and implementation. The Software Architect will work very closely with the Software Quality Assurance Team to ensure quality and timeliness of work product.

 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading a design and implementation team
  • Overall responsibility for design and implementation of the system
  • Establishment and enforcement of coding standards and practices
  • Stay current with industry developments
  • Research emerging technologies, and provides evaluations, and recommendation of emerging technologies
  • Provide time and effort estimates
  • Develop and grow personally and professionally 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master Degree in computer science or other technical field or equivalent experience
  • 10 – 15 total years experience in software design and implementation in distributed, multi-tier systems using structured, object-oriented languages
  • 5-7 years experience as a senior engineer
  • 10+ years experience with object-oriented design and implementation with expert knowledge of SQL stored procedures, Object Oriented languages
  • Strong experience in different middleware technologies and servers, specifically in the Microsoft .Net environment
  • Very strong relational database knowledge, including data modeling and performance tuning
  • Proven and demonstrable experience leading a software engineering team through a new development process
  • Experience in the employee benefits or insurance industry is preferable
  • Development experience using C#, XML, SQL 2008, and JavaScript is desired
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
  • Determination to succeed despite obstacles and challenges, and a positive attitude favoring achievement of goals over open-ended investigation
  • Resourceful and independent
